The charity single for Grenfell Tower put together by music mogul Simon Cowell, which sees a host of big name artists cover Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ is all set to top the UK’s Official Singles Chart this week after shifting a record amount of downloads over the past 24 hours.

The single was released at 8 am yesterday (21st June), and features megastars including the likes of Rita Ora, Liam Payne, Stormzy, Robbie Williams, Paloma Faith, the London Community Gospel Choir, and many more. Since it’s official release the charity single has already sold more than 120,000 downloads and streaming equivalent sales, making it the highest opening day figures for any single released this decade.

Thanks to its massive first day sales Artists For Grenfell’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water‘ is nailed on to be number 1 when the official chart is revealed on Radio 1 tomorrow (23rd June) by Greg James from 4pm.
